Making Air Travel Safer...
Our Idea
Our vision is to make airplane flight safer by creating a super-hydrophobic surface on the exterior of an airplane. We will accomplish this by mimicing the pattern of the super-hydrophobic lotus leaf on a nanoscale. We will imprint this pattern on the materials used to build the exterior of aircraft to combat ice and snow buildup. Deicing and anti-icing will no longer be a concern for air travel.
